Ivanka Trump joins in the firing as multinational combatants enter dad’s business battlefield.
Don’t let the pink tie fool you.
When the Donald Trump reality show The Apprentice returns for season five, it will have a new cast, a new night–Monday instead of Thursday–and a new set of gimmicks to keep viewers enticed. This season, Trump’s kids Ivanka and Don Jr. will guest star, filling in for Trump’s right- and left-hand people, Carolyn Kepcher and George Ross.
“It’s triple the Trump this season on The Apprentice,” said Donald Trump, star and executive producer of The Apprentice, in a statement. “I invited my children Don Jr. and Ivanka into the boardroom for several episodes this season, and they take the firings to a whole new level.”
This season’s cast members are being touted for their intellect and diversity. They include: Jose, “Pepi,” a Cuban-American attorney from a top law firm in Miami, Florida, and the first Hispanic to receive the distinction of being Florida College Student of the Year; Andrea, whose sticker and T-shirt company have made her a multimillionaire; Lenny, an Uzbekistani who spoke no English, but worked his way up from being a janitor to owning a successful medical trading company; and Theresa, a psychotherapist who owns a wellness center and is also a licensed real-estate agent to boot.
NBC is hoping the prospect of seeing Ivanka dole out some pink slips will breathe some life into the show’s ratings, as the fourth season was off 20 percent from the previous outings. The Apprentice season five premieres Monday, February 27, at 9 p.m.
